I have a 04 v-star classic which i have removed the baffels from. I took a hole saw and cut around the small pipe, then welded a bar to the small center pipe and moved it back and forth until the two small welds that hold the pipe in place broke, also if you just want it a little louder you can start by drilling holes around the small center pipe.
Essentially you grind away the small weld which holds the smaller diameter inner "tube" which you see when you look at the outer end of the exhaust pipes. You then jiggle the tube around until it can be pulled free. Be warned! ... the process sounds a lot easier than it actually is.
Be warned again! ... there are repercussions to this modification and removing the baffles will change a LOT more than just the sound of the exhaust.
Any modifications will change the back pressure in the system, resulting in a less efficient fuel burn in the combustion chamber, simply because the back pressure helps to hold the fuel charge in the chambers longer after the valve starts to open. In simpler terms, modifying the exhaust system of this bike in this way almost always results in messing up the fuel/air mixture and the engine run will run "lean" ... particularly at higher revs/speeds. This in turn invariably leads to overheating. The only solution is to re-jet the carburetor and re-tune the engine.
The Yamaha engineers did a very good job in designing a carefully balanced exhaust system on this motorcyclye. Unfortunately modifications made in the quest for more "noise" usually results in wrecking this well-designed system ... mostly to the detriment of performance and engine life.
Cut the silencer open and remove them. Get a welder to TiG it closed again and clean up the cut.
You can remove the baffles from inside the muffler but the neighbors won't be happy.
To remove the driver's seat on a 2007 Suzuki 800c Intruder you need to remove the headrest and remove the screws. Next, remove the bolts and washer on each side of the front of the driver seat.
how do you remove backrest on a 1994 suzuki intruder 1400
remove the right side engine cover
Most Harley Davidson mufflers have "2" sets of baffles. one in the rear and one in the front close to the location where the muffler meets the head pipe. I have found the best wat to remove these is to remove the mufflers, stand them on end on a padded surface ) a few towels will do) and use a piece of galvanized plumbing pipe and a hammer and knock the baffles in until they are flat against the inside of the muffler. But, if you remove the baffles you will also need to increase the flow of gas to the valves or you will burn them out. The Vance and Hines Fuelpack or the Harley CD download ( dealer only) will do the trick. The bike will run so much better once you let it breath. Good Luck
Yes, you just need to remove the center bracket (back seat bracket) on your bike
my 87 intruder fuses are located inside the left frame cover. i think there is one screw to remove and then the cover pops off.
The battery box has a bottom hinge. Just remove the 2-10mm bolts, 1 on each side, and slide the battery out the bottom.
The fuses are located on the left (if your seated on the bike) under the panel that says intruder. You need to remove the seat completely first. you will then find 2 small screws holding the panel in place. Remove them. Underneath there is a small box with fuses written on it.
remove the seat and the main bolt is there and look between the handle bars and the tank for the other screw.
It is bad for your neighbors.
On a 1997 Suzuki Intruder 800, the tool compartment is located in the sissy bar. Just remove the back rest cushion (it pops off) and use the key to open the compartment behind it.
