Do a net search on "manufacturer's name" and "serial number". With luck you might find a website describing how to interpret the serial number.
The serial number of that particular firearm is 55032. Took alot of research, but I have unearthed the answer to your question.... Your python was made in 1967.

This isn't a serial number. It looks more like a patent number. Describe which model you have and we can help with the serial number.
My research indicates that your Colt Hunstman was made in the year 1953 with the serial number that you have supplied.
Hello. A klein serial number can be easyest read as this. Ok i have a Klein Attitude from 94 with serial nr: 20t0694313 that means it is a medium 20" made in June 94 number 313 that month. earlyer models have other numbers that are much simpler such as: AD03c which indicates its just an Adroit or ATT00168 which indicates its an Attitude. these early numbers are mostly from 1990 to 93. for those of you who are interested you can go to oldklein.com and see much of these oldschool beauties. look for the collection from Norway and you will see a lot of the bikes i have now or have previously owned before:-) For further Q's you can send me a mail at Andre.hefferli@bluezone.no hope this helps a little Thanks André
You will have to call S&W with the serial number to find out.
research the serial number through the title department.
Only if your a cop you can acess computer databases about the serial numbers of weapons(lol i watch CSI NY)
To answer your question would require weeks of research. Does not appear to be in the normal serial number convention.
Call S&W and they will tell you when it left the factory/
