This title is some-what vague, so here is what I shall do.
1. Saving Data
Just exit a garden, and it saves automaticly.
2. Death/Reincarnation
There is no possible way of stopping this. But, if you DO treat your Chao well, the Cacoon will be Pink, and a Chao Egg of the Chao will be inside, with lowered stats.
3. Infinite Life
This is only possible with a Chaos Chao, that will never die, if treated well. If treated bad, it will eventually die, and get a Gray Cacoon, which means it has died, and cannot be revived again.

Why can't I make my chao mate?
Chao CAN mate with each other.Ok,so one of your Chao has flowers blooming around it.In order to make a Chao mate with the Chao that has flowers blooming around it,you need to put another Chao next to the Chao that is ready to breed.Sometimes,a Chao might not like the Chao mating so then it goes away.Or you might be trying to breed a Child Chao with a Baby Chao.Baby Chao cannot breed with others.Only Child Chao with Child Chao.And the last reason why you can't mate your Chao is probably because you are trying to breed a Child Chao with a Chaos Chao.Chaos Chao cannot breed.Sometimes a Chao is already near the Chao mating.So if it likes the mating Chao,it will walk up to it and they will breed.
How do you get a tails chao?
You can get the official tails chao in Phantasy Star Online Episodes I and II. if you have the PC version of SADX(you can easily download it) you have to get the chao editor giving you the power to have any chao possible (sonic, shadow, nights, Amy, knux, tails, chaos ext.) and change what color they are! :D but you can only download the working one on Google chrome. look that up on Google download that, then download mscomct2.ocx or sumting like that you have to right click and do "save target" / "save link" "as..." then save that and the chao editor to youre desktop. when that's done right click on the mscomct2 file and click "add to mscomct2" and it will run it and it should open up a thing asking you if ya wanna download this. hit yes. then something else should pop up and ask you another thing and then you click "allow" then a file should pop up. extract that then right click on the SADXME and click "run as adminstrator" say yes or allow to every thing it should open. the open the SADX PC version go into chao garden. the hatch an egg. pick up the chao. go the the chao name thingy(where you name your chao) and then click on youre SADXME(this is a shortned name of sonic adventure DX memory editor so you knnow) "chao garden" when you click it something will open up show ing you the chao faces the chao it can be, the stats, its color, ext. now you can make what ever chao you want! or get action replay max for gamcube and input the tails chao code. hatch the egg and it should be a tails chao. P.S that Phantsay star online thingy. that's not the offucal tails chao! the offical tails chao came out years ago as a special thiny for youre dream cast. unless you have a time machine then you wont get it. and all tails chao look the same! no matter what. idk why the offical one is so important... hope this helped! ~RIKKIANDSPARKEY

He would either become a "Death" Chao or a "Life" Chao With Unlocks you a Grave yard Chao Garden of a Heaven Chao Garden with is amazingly Fun :)
Can dark chao and hero chao mate?
ok yes they can unless they are a chaos chao. they are incapeable of mating. as long as the chao is a REAL non imortal chao then they will mate (tails chao= cant mate knux chao= cant mate Amy chao=cant mate!) these are nearly inpossible if they are imortal
