There is no way to protect your computer 100%. However, there are many things you can do to make the chances on a threat to your computer as small as possible.

You should have reliable Anti-Virus and Firewall software. Software that does not protect you ob the background, but so called scan on demand-software is useless. Viruses and other nasty software will only be found when the damage is already done.

Also, be careful with what you install and download. You can improve your security by simply thinking before clicking somewhere.

What are the biggest threats to the security of your computer and it's contents?

Viruses and evil hackers who want information from you and the government . The most biggest threat is negligence about security from the user. *Most "hackers" aren't evil, they are knowledgeable people who are looking for a way to expand and test their skills but do not have a proper outlet to do so. This leads to what looks like random, mean or senseless attacks on innocent people. Past this, the biggest security hole in computing is, indeed, the user. As the saying goes, "There is no patch for human stupidity".

How do you know which antivirus you are using in your PC?

It seems so strange? You should know what you are using! For instance, the antivirus I'm using in my PC is Security Shield 2009, for I download it by myself. From my own experience, I find that this software can provide essential virus protection from viruses, hackers, and privacy threats.
