No, actually I tried that and it didn't work even though Heatran has a gender. You can't breed any legendary poke'mon except for Manaphy which gives you a Phione. you can use action replay Ya I tried you cant breed heatran with ditto, or at least not a male heatran. No,even if it has gender it can't breed.Well,Heatran and Cresselia are legendaries alright,but not Rotom.Rotom CAN breed,if you have a Ditto. What is heatran?
To get this rare frog, fire and steel pokemon, after getting the national pokedex go to Stark Mountain. You will buddy up with Buck and his Claydol to get the Magma stone. When you find it he'll take, but he will awake heatran, you won't see him though. Go back to his house talk to him. He will go back to put it back. Head back the room where you found the Magma stone. You need to beat the elite four and then go to snowpoint city and get the boat to the fight area then follow the route upwards and you will come across stark mountain where you can catch heatran.

I only know that in Platinum If you swim in the lake beside the Battle Frontier and go upwards, You'll Reach Stark Mountain where Heatran will be available and that you can get Cresselia somehow but I don't know any Secret ones in Diamond unless you include ones that you need the AR for(Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus ETC.) and ones that you need the old games for(Regis) P.S. I think you can still get Heatran and Cresselia in Diamond Though.
How do you get heatran in Pokemon Platinum?
You have to go to Stark Mountain. It's on the Island north-east of Sinnoh, where the Resort Area etc. are located. Check on your town map to see where Stark Mountain is. You will have to progress though the storyline once your there. You need to get to the end of the Mountain and go into the cave at the back. The person who teamed up with you will collect the stone in the middle of the small cave. She will then take it back to her Grandfather in the Resort Area. Go back to her and she should give you the Magma Stone. Then go back to Stark Mountain enter the cave once again and Heatran is in front of you. SAVE before battling/attempting to capture Heatran!
