You drag a heavy magnet through them - It will gather the iron nails.
Hi Use magnet to separate aluminum from iron.Iron is attracted by magnet and gets separated from aluminum. Dr Vidya Kaushik
Try a magnet. A magnet picks up iron. It does not pick up aluminum.
Aluminum and iron can be differentiated because iron is magnetic and aluminum is not. To separate them, expose the filings to a magnetic source and the iron will separate.
You would run a magnet over both of them together and the iron would stick to the magnet but the aluminum would not stick to the magnet or other way around. love, Hannah age 12
Maybe...iron would replace aluminium to form iron sulphate. iron+aluminum sulfate--->iron sulphate+aluminium.

With a magnet.
You can use magnetism because if you do use this technique the iron will get magnified and then it will separate from the aluminum. Source: I'm a GENIUS!

Very easily, put a magnet on them it will attract the iron but not the aluminium.
A magnet would work fine, since aluminium isn't magnetic but iron is.
Using a magnet you can hover it over the cans.
