Stalling rough. Like stalling while on a hill. That made mine skip.
Anything is possible. The belt can jump a tooth if it is worn and needs replacing.
if timing chain has skipped a tooth, the car will run like crap. you would also hear rattling coming from timing chain area as chain is loose and stretched for it to jump a tooth. more likely to have lost a tooth off one of the timing gears. also u will not be able to time the engine correctly in this condition
yes he fancys the tooth fairy! =)
The 2.3 liter 4 cylinder has a timing BELT with either round tooth or square tooth sprockets , so there are ( 2 ) different types of timing belt The V6 engines use a timing CHAIN and gears
In order to check if ti slipped a tooth you would need to get a timing light from auto zone or sears. Be sure to follow the instructions on the timing light. If you do not then you will never know that your timing if off.Good luck!
Yes, it if is worn and jumps a tooth.
Probably your timing belt is a tooth off either retarded or advanced. Any more than a tooth, and it won't run at all and possible bent valves. Recheck timing marks and or timing holes that line up with special tools or etc.
Timing BELT ( you could either have round tooth sprockets or square tooth sprokets ) so there are ( 2 ) different part numbers
Your timing belt was not properly installed. It's probably off by a tooth or two.
Possibly you have the timing belt off one tooth.
Check your timing. Is it possible your timing chain has jumped a tooth?
There are no timing marks. The ignition timing is controlled by the ECU. There is a ring behind the crankshaft pulley that has one tooth missing. When that missed tooth goes past the Crankshaft Positon Sensor it creates an electrical pulse. This is sent to the Power Contol Module which determines the timing. Timing can't be set.
