In order to speed up songs, first import the song you want sped up into Windows Movie Maker. Then import a picture(any picture) as well. Move the picture to its spot on the storyboard (you need to make a movie before you can speed it up). Drag the song into the audio/music spot. Then, save the movie to your computer. Once it is saved, import the new video into Windows Movie Maker. Once you have dragged it onto the storyboard, click on View Video Effects on the left. Scroll down and drag "Speed Up Double" onto the Video. Then save the video again. Once you have the speeded up video, import it again into Windows Movie Maker. This time, drag it into the Audio/Music column instead of the Video. Save it to your computer, and ta-da! You have a speeded up version of your song.
NOTE- If you want to change your pitch, you need to do it in Audacity.
I faced the same problem - I wanted to make a stop motion. So I imported all my images - and then went into "video tools" - then "edit" and then changed the duration to however fast or slow I wanted it to move past the picture.
If you want to make only 1 picture move faster or slower, select it and then change the duration. If you need to make a stop motion and hence make all the images move faster [altering the fps - frames per second] then select all the images and make the change in the "duration" section.
hope this was helpful!
Sorry, but there is no Speed Up or Slow Down feature in Windows Live Movie Maker. That particular feature is available in the v2.1 and v2.6 Windows Movie Maker applications, but not in Windows Live Movie Maker.
You can't do that in Windows Live Movie Maker.

Dj Boonie is apparently a "DJ" but all he does is speed up songs in windows live movie maker. Anyone can do that, and call themselves a dj :\
Windows Live Movie Maker.
You can't dictate/edit frame speed in Windows Movie Maker. There is a Speed up double and Slow down half effect that you can use, but the timing is pre-set. Just remember... Windows Movie Maker is a very basic video editing software application that is limited in features and functionality.
The Speed up, Double is in the Effects menu.
There is no Speed up, or Slow down effect in Windows Live Movie Maker. The effect is only available in earlier versions such as 2.1 and 2.6.
well if you wish to slow a video down, add it to windows live movie maker, then click the edit tab that appears when you click on the video. then just reduce the speed to .5, .25, or .125
