My ex worked a travelling job and to a certain extent it was difficult for him when I'd take the kids and go back to my hometown or somewhere else. He couldn't picture me at home. So, your spouse should take care to check in frequently and ask about your life--don't talk just about problems--but get some emotional affirmations. This is their vacation and should be restful. Most anything will wait (or you can make the decision) until the vacation is over. By the way, treat yourself to a massage or something extra while your partner is gone--you have the time "off," to do as you please--but don't break the bank.
