Just kidding but it does help! Well to be general with this answer a good start is to just get up and do something! The more depressed you feel the easier that statement is said then done, but you might want to get some of those endorphins going. Exercise is the best way! Whether its just taking a walk in the sunlight (which helps a lot natural sunlight is proven to help with depression also) or doing some hardcore Weightlifting whatever strikes your fancy is sure to help. Playing sports is also a good! Not only will it kick in those endorphins but the social interaction is good for you too! And like i mentioned above just being outside can help you improve your mood! Trying to think positive also helps! Mind over mood! This might sound silly but maybe participating in like a marathon or some kind of run is really helpful because it gives you a goal to achieve, something to look forward to! and training for it is very healthy and sure to improve your mood! Having a goal is sure to help your motivation! If exercise isn't really you cause I know its not me :) just making sure to not socially isolate yourself is important too! Go out with some friends and try to enjoy yourself! remember think positive! Try to make small goals for yourself even cleaning one room of your house a week or something can help. Its good to feel like you've accomplished something. Start small and work your way bigger! The worse your depression is the smaller the steps at first. don't try to over achieve because it will just lead to more stress and maybe more depression! Depending on how crappy you feel you may just want to set your goal as getting out of the bed. Then tomorrow get out of bed and shower! Then the next day get out of bed shower and put on some nice clothes :) There are tons of things you can do to help improve your mood but a lot of it depends on what makes you happy. I promise you take your iPod or book or whatever and just go sit out in the sun! Maybe bring a fan if you live in the south like me :) If you honestly try a few things I've mentioned and your mood doesn't seem to be improving by all means go see your doctor and ask for some help! It takes a stronger person than you think to ask for help, there should be no shame in it! And don't de afraid to ask more questions!
