Answer 1Since I'm not an expert in central air conditioning, this will be a layman's answer.

As I understand what I have been told years ago by an air conditioning technician, condensation occurring inside the ductwork downstream of the evaporator coil(s) is the result of the rate of airflow over the coil being too great for the amount of moisture [humidity] in the air.

The highly humid air does not have a long enough contact time with the coils for all the moisture to condense on the coil fins, and it does finally condense out downstream in the ducts and on the outlet diffuser.

Whatever the cause, you need to get a qualified air conditioning technician to check out your system, so that he/she can properly diagnose the cause.

What exactly is central air conditioning I know I have AC, but what makes it central?

Central air conditioning is an air conditioning system with a central unit that distributes air to the rest of the house through vents. Some people have air conditioning units that are separate for each room, but most houses today have a centralized unit, usually located outside the home, which pumps air to each part of the house through the ventilation system. That is what is referred to as Central Air conditioning, because there is just one centralized unit cooling the entire place, as opposed to many autonomous units cooling each room.

Air supply registers may be located in floors or walls?

AIr supply registers can be located in the floors, walls, or ceilings. The placement chosen will depend on whether the system will be used primarily for heating or cooling. If you live in an area where you use mostly heating, floor registers are the best, as heat will rise and mix with the indoor air. If you live in a warm area, like me, you want the registers high on the walls or on the roof, as the cold supply air will fall towards the floor. Basically you want high registers for cooling and low registers for heating.
