For one thing, there are many places on Earth that don't have hurricanes or major earthquakes. Second, earthquakes generaly do not have a significant effect on trees. Third, trees do have some ability to survive hurricanes, and overall, most areas will go long enough between significant hurricane impacts for the trees to recover.
Well there is a possibilty that you could survive but you will be stuck with earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, big waves and meteor showers, but if you have a waterproof, galewindproof and tremorproof bomb shelter then I think you should be safe just remember to stock up. and good luck. ;)
Without wishing to sound facetious, the main answer is to be lucky. In a poor country like Haiti, where buildings are of poor standard, the only safe place to be is outside.
Any building that wishes to survive a substantial earthquake should be able to flex. Construction companies know how to make a building better withstand the effects of earthquakes by making them more flexible.
