Look at the barrel on the left side, about a half inch forward of the receiver- you should find some very small letters stamped there. You may need a magnifier to accurately read them. They are a code to show month and year made. The Remington Collector's Website has a table of date codes to decipher them. Note that is the date the BARREL was made. If original to rifle, is also date rifle was made.

It all depends on the age, condition and the collect ability of the rifle.

This rifle was made in 1920.
I received a similar rifle from my grandfather. He had a letter from Remington stating the rifle was manufactured between 1900 - 1907, if I remember correctly.
