It's normally as easy as comparing the underside of the tail, near the vent. Males have pronounced bulges, and visible pores, while the female doesn't.

males with have a v shaped section of pores on the bottom section of the belly. these pores will often look as if they are secreting wax.
leopard geckos will have a swelling where the tail starts on the stomach side and dots by the pelvic area shaped like a V if its a male. not sure about panther geckos though
