Try just gently pushing the bike forwards or backwards - if it rolls freely it is in neutral, if it rolls a small amount before not moving any more it is in gear.
If the gear box has gone on your YZ 80 motorbike you will find that your bike slips out of gear very easily. You will notice that there are broken teeth on the gears.
Most motorbike gearboxes are pretty bulletproof, I have found most problems to be in the shift machanism, usually the adjustment on the gear change hub and arm.
check the side stand switch , this cuts out the engine if it (the side stand) is down when you put the bike in gear .
anywhere from 35 mph to 110 depending on the gear ratio and the horsepower and the max rpm of the engine
There are a lot of factors that go into determining this. What is the effective gear ratio for second gear? What is the maximum RPM of the engine? What is the rolling diameter of the tires? If you can provide the answers to those three questions, I can tell you the maximum speed.
Sounds like a bad crank shaft or possibly other serious internal part. Likely your engine is ruined, I would get it towed to a shop so they can hook it up to the computer and tell you for certain.
If you have any 'check engine' type of indicators lit up on your dashboard, have the engine codes checked with a code reader; that should tell you what's going on.
no but you can losen the pipes where they enter the engine or the easy way is to toe bump it in 2nd gear round the block
Car will not move when in gear. When accelerating, the engine speed jump but the car does't increase speed very quickly.
it is legal for your kid to ride a motorbike if say you bought one saying for 10+ kids motorbike kind of thing.. and if your neighbour yells again just tell her to go for it and even if the police do come round just show them the bike and you can tell if it is a kida bike because its way smaller !
Most likely, yes. From my experience most manufacturer's computers store how many starts or miles ago the light turned on.
You need to use the instrument panel in the car to check the oil internally when your engine is turned off. This will tell you if you are ok or not.
