How can you tell if a older guy likes you when you only text and never hang out What if your both shy and you dont know how to talk to him?

If he is the one to text you first then he is interested, If he goes into detail about you or your hobbies then he really likes you. There is no way you can maintain a happy relationship without hanging out. Try talking about his hobbies and act very interested in him to give him more confidence if he is shy.
Try to adapt yourself into his life and hobbies to keep a conversation going which will cause him to be more open around you which will make him more likely to see you in a more romantic view.
Ask to hang out with him and comment on anything you can until he seems interested and hold onto that topic to keep the conversation going. Eventually the conversation will just flow and the topic will change and he will see you as a love interest more than just a texting buddy. Sorry for the paragraphs lol. Good Luck!!

Well sweety to me it seems like he likes you, but you never know until you act on it. So tell him how you feel, dont be shy and dont worry about being rejected, because it will be fine ok.
