The female gerbil has a distinctive genital shape (which doesn't include a sac like the male). If this doesn't help you can consider there visible nipples (they have six) on there belly BUT males have the same thing they seem to have less though. If you have both a male and female consider size difference (females are much slimmer/thin compared to a healthy male. A big clue is the yellowish color on the genital. The genital area will be very yellow/orange this is because they have there menstrual cycle. The color is much more visible compared to the male.

∙ 11y agoA female gerbil's urethra and anus are nearly touching. Male's urethra and anus have a gap inbetween. I urethra is the tube that the pee comes out of and the anus is the... part that the other stuff comes out of.

∙ 15y agoI have been a breeder for many year.You can tell, by, if you look at there rump, the males should have a black.gray piece of skin, if they do not have that they are a girl.You can also tell by looking at the distance between the ''anus'' and ''penus''.There will be two dots, if they are close together, its a female, if they are not close together they are a male.
