To add on to that, here is a list of hypoallergenic dogs (dogs that are considered good for allergy sufferers): No dog is completely hypoallergenic, but these dogs shed less and carry less allergins in their fur. Also, consider Chinese Crested crossbreeds - Chinese crested dogs are partly hairless dogs and are usually good for allergy sufferers when crossed with other dogs; and that way, the dog isn't hairless if you are not keen on hairless dogs. I have asthma and an allergy to dogs, and I get on well with Chinese crested crossbreeds and poodles (my friend has some). Move out, get your own place and THEN get pet(s) of YOUR choice.
