In almost every fuel injected car when you turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position the fuel pump will run for a few seconds to pressurize the fuel system before the car starts. If you take out the bottom of the back seat of the Aspire, you will see a small panel that covers the fuel tank connections ( fuel input, fuel output and the wires to the fuel pump). If you have a helper sit in the back seat (with the lower seat removed) with his ear on that panel while someone turns the ignition switch to the "ON" position the helper should hear the pump run. Another way to check the fuel pump is to get a Pressure gauge (at least 100psi gauge) and connect it to the fuel inlet of the throttle body. After connecting the gauge, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and watch for a pressure reading on the gauge. If you use an unbuffered gauge, the needle might fluctuate when checking for pressure. If you can't hear the pump run OR you see no pressure reading on the gauge, the fuel pump might be bad. Please be sure to check the fuel system fuses first before preforming the above steps!
why is the fuel pump located on the ford 1995 aspire
One
On my 95 aspire the fuel pump went out and I had to take out the back seat and the fuel tank is there along with the fuel pump.
They are self-priming.
A ( 1996 ) Ford Aspire has a 38 liter / 10 U.S. gallon fuel tank .
A common cause for a gas gauge to stop working in a 1994 Ford Aspire is a defective fuel gauge. Lose wiring in the dash is another cause.
I believe it is one of the three relays under the dash, and adjacent to the clutch pedal or brake pedal if you have an automatic transmission. Assuming it's the same as a 94 ford aspire.
The fuel pump is located above the fuel tank, which is right below the backseat. You have to unbolt the backseat and lift it up. There will be a panel underneath that you need to open up. There it is!

located on right side of engine when looking from front side, by windshield. this one right first answer sucks
Mounted on top and inside the fuel tank.
the fuel pump inertia switch is located in the rear hatch on the drivers side behind a small plastic cover in the side panel.
