It has hydraulic lifters, no adjustment. If you have valve noise you probably have worn valve train parts. Replacement of worn parts would be required.

There could be several reasons why you have a noisy hydraulic valve lifter. One reason could be worn our parts in the entire valve train. A loose rocker arm could also cause noise.

What makes rocker arm come loose?

a worn camshaft or lifter, use of a non self locking nut, some heads the rocker shaft is pressed and not threaded into cyl head and can lift out of head. also a bent or worn push rod, and last a worn rocker ball and seat note these answers are for over head valve train. with over head cam setup. a worn cam or collapsed hydraulic tappet, or adjustable tappet was not installed properly a;so a cracked valve spring.

Should you replace lifters and rockers and pushrods?

Only if they are worn.

What is the engine ticking noise?

As you give very little information as to make, model, engine size or year, and exactly when it is ticking, this is just an educated guess. Normally this is valve noise caused by valve clearance issues. If it has solid lifters then they need adjusting. If it has hydraulic lifters, they may be clogged and sticking. If it has hydraulic lifters try adding a can of Seafoam engine tune to a fresh oil filter change. It can be purchased at many auto parts stores. Drive the car for 500 miles and change the oil and filter again. You may have to do this more than once to remove the deposits in the lifters. If this does not work, then the valve stems or lifters are worn, and need adjustment or possible replacement.

Why don't brand new lifters stop ticking after correct valve adjustment?

Worn or bent push rods or worn rocker arms. Incorrect adjustment procedure. depending on what type of lifters some of them have to be pumped up manually .Worn or bent push rods or worn rocker arms.
