The easiest way is to look at the ingredients. You can also look at whether the food leaves a greasy residue on your fingers or napkin; this is an indicator of a high fat content which could come from oil (or butterfat). Also if you know that the food has been fried then it definitely will contain oil.
As a last resort, you can set the food on fire and see how long it burns for. The longer the burning time indicates a higher calorie content, hence a higher likelihood that it contains some fat/oil.
