cold sores really deaden the skin near it and actually feels cold and seemingly runs deep into your flesh like a wart and is extremely unpleasant, while a pimple is generally red and has a big pus filled pocket that is white or yellowish sprouting from it and in my experience only hurts if you touch it. Cold sores also appear generally on around the mouth and do not sprout from the skin like a zit does, that and cold sores are fifty times as obnoxious as pimples.

∙ 10y agoHerpes are painful, while "just bumps" may not be. But a real diagnosis requires a visit to your health care provider. See your health care provider for appropriate diagnosis and treatment of your symptoms, and get screened for STDs at the same time.
