if the engine is apart , you can tell by the bore and stroke. a 5.7 l is a 350 cid. engine the bore is 4 inches and the stroke is 4.480 inches.

if the engine is not apart, your Chevy dealer may be able to tell you by the motor no.

the motor no. should be located on a machined pad in front of the left head. (looking at the eng. from the front.) in front of no. 2 cylinder
