Well the male is usually slightly bigger. There can be some females that are larger than the male however, so the best way to tell is if by looking underneath. A male has a penis while the female does not. And if the wolf is mature you make be able to see the nipples while you can't on a male. If looking under the wolf is not possible you can look at the muzzle. Males usually have a larger muzzle than the females.
Other than looking at the genitals, the male is larger and has a fuller coat.
