if you know that where sun rises that is east and the position of east you can easily tell the time by seeing the sun
by the position of the moon
sundial
Yes shadows are important because they tell us the position of the sun at the time of day
you can frum the sun but im not sure bout the moon Thanks In my question, I was hoping that you might get even a hint of where say north is by the direction of the moons crescent or it's position. As you can tell north by the position of the sun, perhaps you can get an indication of the sun from the sun light being reflected from a half moon?
There is an exact word for this phenomenon, an analemma. This is an asymmetric figure-of-eight, somewhat skinny, and would be the shape composed if you marked the position of the sun at the same time each day throughout the year. The actual asymmetry of the figure-of-eight varies with latitude, and reverses completely by the time you travel to the other arctic (or antarctic) circle.
They used the suns positions to tell the time. They used a device called a Sundail. For more information GOOGLE IT!!!!
Noon
Probably by the position of the sun.
by the position of the moon
The Solar System doesn't tell time; we tell time, based on the movement of objects in the sky. Basically the time is based on the position of the Sun in the sky.
If the position is graphed vs time, then the slope (rate of change of position with respect to time) will be the same (parallel).
Put yourself in their position. If you were them, what would you want someone to say to you? It is usually best just to tell them that you are truly sorry for their loss, and to tell them to come to you if there is anything you can do to help them through this difficult time.
You can tell the time by looking at the sun's position. A great time teller is the sunflower wich turns after the sun on how he moves .
With a watch and by the position of the sun in the sky.
The Incas used the sun and moons position in the sky to tell time
Latitude doesn't dictate how high the sun gets in the sky, but it does help us understand position and time. We can use latitude and the suns position to determine not only what day of the year it is, but where we are.
