It will be stationary and will not be breathing (no gill movement) Bettas need to go to the surface and get a gulp of air occasionally. So if you watch your betta for 1 hour and it doesn't move or breath or use its gills during that time I guess you could safely assume it is dead.
Wow i have alot of experince in that as i have had alot of fish who have died on me, most recently lapis my betta fish, but he died while i was asleep, a few ways to tell are:
1: sometimes you can catch your fish on its side, when i see that i tap the glass once or twice near where my fish is to make them move to show they are still alive
2: if you have more than one fish in the tank, say like 3 or 4 one or two of the fishes will protect the sick one from the others.
3: if you catch one of multipul fishes dead in the tank it is likely the others will get sick and have a chance of dying too.
and 4: the illness ich can be caught by fish and kill them, the most notice able sign of ich is the scales of your fish bleach white starting around the gills and spread out over time, if you notice this at a early stage it can be treated, if gotten when body has gotten bad and almost completely white then it means you fish will most likely die.
i hope this helps, i dont like it when fish die, mainly my own, i have had what 6 or 7 fish die on me and i dont want to see any more go, it hurt most when lapis died cus i was crying my head off for a while cus lapis was really my only friend.
Hope this helps!
Well it starts to float upside down. it floats at the top of the water and if u poke it it wont move then its dead.
They are like any other fish. iF they are not moving or are sideways they are dead. The best way to know is to tap on the glass a few times.
They float on the surface of the water
get rid of it or flush it down a tolette
they float belly upl... they float belly upl... float and, you don't really need to know because it will be easy to tell that it is dead.
It's all in the tail. the males is larger and longer and the females is shorter.
it's dead!
flush him down the toilet.... then get anthor one if you want
Any dead creature in the water will putrefy and the resultant putrefaction will kill any fish in that water. So yes the dead crab will kill the Betta eventually.
the size of it's fins and body
ya
Probably because it's dead and going rotten.
Fish do not normally "float around" they swim. If your fish is floating/sinking then it is probably dead.
Playing games with fish if very diffucult. The best thing to do with your betta is to put your finger on the fish bowl and move it around to see if your betta will follow it. If she does, that means she is hungry. Feed her. Not hungry? Then just talk to your fish, though I must warn you, they might not be very sympathetic. BUBBLES ROCK!!!! EVEN MY DEAD BETTA FISH (Beta, Troy, and Fin) ROCK!!! EVEN MY DEAD GOLDFISH (Max, Elizabeth, and Liz) ROCK!!!!
other Betta fish and the bigger fish.
