Depends on why it is frozen. If it is just from sitting a long time you can try removing all spark plugs and pouring in a few ounces of kerosene. Let sit for 24 hours and then see if it will turn over with a hot battery. If it turns over, change the oil and filter, and see if it will start.
Transmission fluid is just oil and will not unfreeze a seized engine.
This is usually accomplished by either forgetting to refil the crankcase after an oil change, or by running the engine out of oil by not routinely checking the oil level, and adding the appropriate amount when it's running low. It is also possible to seize an engine by overheating it.
The purpose of adding oil to a car i to lubricate the engine. if the engine is not lubricated there will be much more friction between gears and friction generates heat. because energy is needed to create heat that energy is taken away from the energy that would be propelling the car forward. this causes the efficiency yo drop.
what is a good engine oil to use in my car
If your car is smoking, adding things to the oil is not likely to help.
If it is leaking oil excessively you probably shouldn't. If the leaking oil was to reach the catalytic converter the oil could catch fire. Not to mention that everywhere you park you will leave a mess and you will be adding oil constantly to the engine.
I don't know what your definition of a small amount is but, I wouldn't leave it in there for long. Change the engine oil and filter as soon as possible with the correct oil for your car. I have known some old timer mechanics who used to do that to help clear sludge from inside an engine.
The only repair for an engine that is burning oil is a complete overhaul of the engine. If it is not burning excessive oil and is not smoking so much as to be a hazard to other drivers, then I would just keep adding oil. You more than likely have worn rings or maybe a broken ring.
An oil leak is always going to be out of the engine as the engine contains oil and the car does not. I think you are saying you are loosing oil with no apparent leak. If that is the case the engine is burning oil and that is why you see no leaks.
No, not really. Transmission fluid is basically just oil. An engine that has seized up that way has suffered serious damage to the pistons and cylinder walls, they've basically become welded together. The engine would have to be rebuilt whether you to it loose or not.
A 2-stroke engine requires adding 2-cycle oil with the gasoline.
Adding too much oil will cause your engine to burn off the excessive oil which causes a lot of carbon buildup in your engine and a lot of blue smoke out your tailpipe. If the oil level is high enough, it can contact the crankshaft and foam up. If the oil foams it can damage the engine.
