There are services that you can find online. I found one that let me download the software and do it myself. There are others that have you send you phone to them by mail. I have not tried any of those because I did not like the idea of sending my phone away.
It was very easy to download the software, install, and run the program with my phone hooked to my computer. It only took a few minutes.
If you are going overseas, I suggest that you buy a SIM from that country. It's the cheapest way to go. Plus you can recharge your minutes at most drug stores for just a few dollars almost anywhere in the world.
Also, in most services, you can receive long distance calls for free and they keep working for emergency numbers even after the prepaid minutes are up.
