WELL, for starters, they work. Or if you are busting to get a dog then you could sell your stuff or get some money out of your bank account. You could wait until its your birthday. Somebody might get it for you, or if you get money, spend it on the dog! Hope this helped!

I think art camp is more fun. You get to make friends, be creative, and make art. You also hone your artistic skills. You can dog walk on the side for some extra money.
You can't really MAKE your parents give you a dog, but you may be able to persuade them to do so. Ask them what they would want you to do, in order to be rewarded with a dog. You may be able to make a deal.
A cheap dog house can be made with 2-by-4's cut to make the dog house. Many home improvement stores have schematics to make these inexpensive dog houses. However, sometimes spending a little extra money on a ready made dog house can add security.

It partly depends on things like what size of dog you want, how much room your house has, do you have a fenced yard, how much extra money your family has and things like that. The price of buying a puppy isn't the only cost--they also have to have food and medical care, just like people. Your parents are going to wonder how much extra work the puppy is going to be for them. You need to prove that you will do the work and that you will be a good owner for a dog. Ways to do that are: (1) Training a dog needs patience. Prove that you are patient by not whining or arguing, doing all your homework, and things like that. (2) Training your dog, cleaning up after a dog, and walking your dog all take responsibility. Prove that you are responsible by doing all the work your parents have for you quickly and without arguing. Take on extra work, that will impress them. Don't ask for pay unless they are asking you to help pay for the dog. (3) Dogs require adjustments in your lives. Prove you can handle that by carefully planning (in writing) for the dog's needs, like whether it will need a doghouse or live indoors, and who will do the extra clean-up that will be needed if it is indoors--hint: this should be you. Or will you buy a doghouse or can you build one, and how much will it cost? Is your yard fenced? You can't keep a dog on a chain, it will make them mean. How long per day will you need to spend walking your dog? If walks will meet all their bathroom needs, then you will need to walk the dog until it "goes" several times a day--lots, while it is a puppy. Plan everything out, and show your parents your plans.
Maybe your parents think that they will look after the dog and you wont . You might walk them but they might think that you wont pick up its mess.Or your parents might be alergic and dont to feel ill. The last thing could be that your parents may be poor so they dont want an extra mouth to feed
