1: Make sure you get the right replacement light
2: Remove keys from ignition
3: Make sure lights are off
4: Open hood to vehicle
5: Locate the secure ring that is holding the light in place. Should be surrounded by a rubber membrane
6: Rotate the ring counter clockwise. This may take some muscle especially if it has been replaced before. It is a tight area to work but keep at it till the ring turns
7: Once the ring is unsecure pull the light straight back out of the headlamp. Again your working in a tight area.
8: Now come the difficult part. There is a white secure locking tab and a blick knuckle you can see thru the middle. Most tutorials say push down on the white tab and pull light out. WRONG!! The white tab will not release the bulb. Instead put on a pair of gloves cause your about to bust a knuckle or hurt your hand. Take a smaill flat head screa driver and wege it between the knuckle and the white secure tab. This takes great care and strength but can be done. But chances are your gonna hurt your hand a few times doing this. You should now have the flat part of the screw driver seperating the black knuckle from the white locking tab that many say push down on.
9: Now your about to bust your hand again. While pulling like hell on the white part, pull on the bulb..Keep pulling. The socket is probably dirty and really doesn't want to let the bulb come out.
10: Cuss
11: Keep pulling
12: Take a break
13: Try again
14: Cuss and threaten the car
15: Get a band aid
16: Finally get bulb out of socket and watch secure ring fly through the air. Cuss more
17: Be sure to be wearing gloves before touching new bulb. Oil from your hand will cause bulb to burst when turned on. Put secure ring back on making sure it is facing the right way and place new bulb in aligning the black knuckle to the secure locking tab.
18: Should hear it click. Test and make sure light works.
19: Line up light bulb with secure tab on top (very important)
20: Spin the secure locking tab till it lines up. You know when cause it will seat in further
21: Secure locking ring by turning it clock wise
22: Threaten car again
23: Have a beer

1.65 pounds. It's on the sticker on the driver's side of the firewall.
It's in the fuel tank, like on all modern vehicles.
My 1999 Trooper gets about 16 MPG with mixed highway and city driving. I believe that it has the same drive train as the 2001. If I drive at moderate speeds on the highway, I can get 19 MPG.
The fuel filter is located near the right rear wheel bolted to the chasis.
