What is the difference between unwooded chardonnay and chardonnay?

Quite simply, unwooded Chard or "unoaked" is wine that has never seen the inside of an oak barrel. Typically it will be wine that is fermented in a stainless tank, as opposed to a wooden (oak) cask/barrel. The oak typically helps to balance the tannins, among other things, and gives wine that "full mouth" feel with lots of mid-palate tastes. Unoaked wines are great for people who claim to have an "allergy" to wine. It is the tannins that people typically react to, and those come from both the skins and stems of the grapes, but also from the oak barrels. If you don't "oak" a wine, the you have a lower tannin level which should make the wine bearable to drink for the aforementioned crowd.

Why does chardonnay make you mad?

Because Chardonnay is usually an over-oaked, over-malolactic fermented mess and people in tasting rooms will say something like "I understand that you don't want to try our Chardonnay, but our Chardonnay doesn't taste terrible like everyone else's." Then, if you give in and try it, you remember why you hate Chardonnays because it does in fact taste like all other Chardonnays, and then you're mad again.

Is chardonnays dry white wine?

It is likely that if you walk into any bottle shop you will find plenty of wine in this category in your price point. This is because Dry White Wine is as basic as you can get when it comes to winemaking, after grapes are crushed, they are fermented until the yeast has consumed all of the fermentable sugars present in the juice and for this reason there is no such thing as "most dry", you simply cannot get any dryer than the sugars being totally fermented.
