The distance to the sun from Earth is about 93 million miles.
No people have ever gone farther away from Earth than the Moon.
Since the moon orbits around the earth, being on the moon could put you closer
to the sun by about 238,000 miles, or 1/4 percent of the total distance.
But the Apollo moon landings were all timed to give the astronauts the advantage of
daylight plus long shadows at the landing sites, making it easier for them to perceive
distances accurately. This meant that the landings all took place near the First Quarter
or Last Quarter phases ,,, when the moon is 90 degrees from the sun in our sky, and
therefore essentially the same distance from the sun that earth is.
Bottom line ... nobody has ever been appreciably nearer or farther from the sun than
you are when you stand on the earth.
Probably Mariner 10 NASA's mission to Venus and Mercury at about 46,000,000 km from the sun at it's closest aproach. Also the Messenger space craft which will enter Mercury orbit in 2011. It has already flown by Mercury once but has to slow down to enter orbit so will fly by Venus once more and mercury twice more before finally going into orbit around Mercury. Mercury receives 16 times more light and heat from the sun anything closer to the Sun would probably fry.
The would have to be close to 91,402,506 miles, which is the distance between earth and sun at perihelion. If moon missions have occurred while the earth is at perihelion, and the moon happened to be in position for the new moon phase, then the people on the moon, or in the lunar orbiter when it is on the far side would win the prize, although compared to the distance between earth and sun, the distance from earth to moon is insignificant. If moon missions have not happened around the time of perihelion, then probably it would be people in orbit around earth, either in a shuttle or perhaps in the space station, around the time of perihelion. Otherwise, I believe the winner would be any person on the earth (or in a plane?) where it is exactly solar noon at the moment of perihelion.
most likely an asteroid that flew out of a asteroid belt or maybe a comet
The Americans sent a space probe to Mercury in the 1960's but it did not go into orbit. It flew by taking pictures and would have inevitably been drawn into the sun.
i dont know the exact meaning but acually the spacecraft will get burned
Proxima Centauri is 4.24 light years away.
They got about a quarter of a million miles closer than the Earth when they went to the Moon. They have not been closer than that.
The planet closest to the sun Is mercury
the cloest object to the sun is planet mercrey
aircraft needed to travel the stratosphere
the world may neva no
If this is a Star Treck question, its: Explosive carried by Voyager. A shuttle could carry forty tons of this, which was powerful enough to destroy a space craftship when detonated inside it.Explosive carried by Voyager. it doesn't the earth spins around the sun. the sun's gravity keeps us from flying aimlessly through space. and the spinning of the earth around the sun keeps us from being drawn into the sun.
radiation
it wasn't a space shuttle it was a satellite and it was sputnik IV
the shuttle has some sort of protective paint which protects the hull from the nuclear particles the sun releases into space.
None. The Space shuttle has never come close to the Moon, let alone land on it.
The shuttle's speed is close to 230 km an hour so that is the way it can orbit hte earth close to 50 times a day.
There were 5. Space Shuttle Columbia (destroyed in 2003), Space Shuttle Challenger (destroyed in 1886), Space Shuttle Discovery, Space Shuttle Atlantis, and Space Shuttle Endeavour.
For much of its operational time, it is quite close to zero.
No 1). Nothing can. 2). No space shuttle ever came anywhere close to that speed. 3). No space shuttle can travel at any speed now, because that program has ended, and the remaining shuttles are in museums.
The first space shuttle invented was the space shuttle enterprise.
Space Shuttle Endeavour was the final Space Shuttle built. It was built to replace Space Shuttle Challenger.
The space shuttle went into space and studied outer space.
Of the first Space Shuttle; Enterprise. Of the first space worthy Space Shuttle; Columbia.
The Space Shuttle Columbia. It was the first shuttle to fly into space in 1981.
