An AC compressor is part of an air conditioner which may be used in a car's AC system. The compressor is used to change the pressure between the AC's compartments in order to help condense the refrigerant gas back into a liquid.
The ac compressorThe ac compressor
If the fan is working, then probably there is insufficient gas in the ac compressor.
There can be a couple of reasons due to which the AC compressor of your car might seize to work. First of all check the wires leading to compressor and the fuse switch. Next you have to check if the compressor holds enough gas for AC to work. Also, check for a leakage in steel pipes that circulate the air.
yes it does it makes the engine run at a higher rpm to run the ac compressor
It's depend on refrigerant.
Turn on ac and watch clutch on front of ac compressor. If clutch doesn't engage then AC relay is bad. Or you can follow the schematic on the side of the relay and use a volt meter to test it.
It usually means that your system has developed a leak. Your AC system is charged with freon gas. If a certain amount leaks out, a safety device prevents the AC compressor from starting. Without the compressor, no cold air.
your ac compressor could be seizing up. happened on my 2003 suburban.
Unsure as to what type of compressor you are asking about, but an AC compressor compresses gas/freon and pushes it through the system. With a normal Air Compressor, it just compresses the air so that you expel it to pump tires or blow up floats.
It is on the top of the ac compressor. It is on the top of the ac compressor.
