If the fan is working, then probably there is insufficient gas in the ac compressor.
it's on the top of the air intake manifold just under the black pipe coming from the intercooler , the egr has a 5 wire connector going into it and has 3 bolts holding it on , remove the intercooler pipe and u will see it directly under it
depends on the model the lag 2 and older have the bearing built into the disc so its more expensive to do as its one unit other than that its not that much in it
Have you checked it's switched on?
Dunno for sure but there's a very useful explanation for lag 2 air con control unit light on Renault forum, with pictures! worked a treat for mine.
I'm not sure but a friend of mine had a problem with water getting into his unit and discovered that (if you open the skylight) there is are small plastic tubes fitted in each front corner of the opening. His were blocked up. Once he cleaned the tubes his problem disappeared. Hope this helps.
I DONT THINK THAT YOU CAN CHANGE THE BULD IN THE DISPLAY AS IT IS AN ALL IN ONE UNIT AND Renault WANT A FORTUNE TO REPLACE IT, I HAD A SIMIALR PROBLEM WITH LIGHT KEEP FLASHING AS YOU WENT ALONG. I FIXED THIS FROM A 99P PURCHASE ON EBAY FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FIX IT WITHOUT REPLACING THE UNIT WHICH IS WHAT RENAULT WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU NEED TO DO.Actually there are many threads on http://www.renaultforums.co.uk covering the topic. Its quite easy to do! You need a soldering iron and about 20 Mins:Take out the ashtrayRemove the card readerunclip the ac unit and remove....Locate resistor 101 and solder back to pcb.Detailed instructions and pics @ http://www.renaultforums.co.uk!

You can't top up the auto fluid, it's what Renault call a sealed unit, but I do believe it can be done by a Renault agent because it's very difficult and needs specialized equipment.
