Engineering-wise, right now in 2012, we don't have the hardware or transportation
systems to carry people to the moon, and the sun is roughly 400 times farther away
than that. So in that sense, the answer is: No closer than you are right now.
Survival-wise, if we didn't have this nice thick blanket of atmosphere protecting us,
we would be in big trouble from the sun right where we're at. Consider what happens
if you sit out on the beach a little too long in July or August.
So in the survival sense, the answer is: As close as you can bring along enough
protective gear to make it seem as if you're not really where you are.
earth is the perfect distance from the sun so that life can evolve because, if earth were to close to the sun the earth would be to hot to contain any humans or animals and if the earth were to far from the sun it would be to cold to contain any humans at all,
Humans Burn Near the sun. Humans can never just melt next to the sun especially when the sun is over 1 billion degrees Celcius.
not very close
Gravity. The gravitational pull of the sun keeps the earth close to the sun.
Right here on earth! What do you think a "sun burn" is?
It is impossible for humans to even get close to the sun, or visit it.
no because its to close to the sun.
Anything that causes harm is called dangerous, so as existing unprotected on either Mercury or Venus would be fatal to humans due to their proximity to the sun, both can be said to be dangerously close to the sun for humans.
The planet Mercury is way to close to the sun. Plants, humans, and all other organisms would be incinerated by the heat of the sun.
Mercury is not the closest we've been to the sun? Not even past the moon. Therefore nobody knows how close we can ACTUALLY get to the sun. If they do know though, they're probably dead : )
noone can actually physically visit the sun by landing on it cuz your spaceship would melt before it even got there. but yes they have sent robots to go get an up close look at the sun, but not too close.
stars are far and the sun is close
The earth will become like Venus basically because the plants humans will die because of the tremendous heat of the sun
everything will be destroyed no humans no animals no trees no hills nothing earth will also become hot like sun and will destroy whole other planets by sun and eath
It's close to the sun
earth is the perfect distance from the sun so that life can evolve because, if earth were to close to the sun the earth would be to hot to contain any humans or animals and if the earth were to far from the sun it would be to cold to contain any humans at all,
bolth planets are gas planets and close to the same distance from the sun
