They were not the ONLY ones, they were just the most likely, for two reasons, 1) they had a Bible available to them at all time, primarily for the Church readings, and for teaching, and 2) they were about the only ones who could read-the only ones with an education. Also, remember that for most of the centuries, of the Church's existence, books were incredibly expensive. It would take an entire herd of sheep to produce enough vellum to produce one Bible, and a bunch of educated monks years of steady labor to copy a Bible. One Bible was worth more than most people earned in a lifetime, and even if they could buy one, they would have to spend years learning to read, etc. However, the Church made them available to all the people who could read, this is were the practice came of chaining Bibles to the lecturn in the Church. They were so incredibly expensive that unscruplous thieves would not scruple to steal a Bible, if nothing else for their valuable gems that were often inlaid in the covers. The practice of chaining them meant that they could be left unguarded all day for anyone to come in and read them. Often parish priests took lads under their tutelage to teach them to read and write, in order, primarily, so that they could read The Bible. The Catholic Church deserves our praise, admiration, and thanks for the centuries in which they not only produced the Bible, but safeguarded it, copied it for century after century so that we, hundreds of years later, would be able to actually have a copy of this written word of God. There is no way in which we can thank the Catholic Church, and her generations of monks, for this immense gift for all of us.
Roman Catholic AnswerYou are operating with a mistaken assumption. The Catholic Church wrote the Bible, the Catholic Church decided which books were canonical (included in the Bible), and the Catholic Church has conserved the Bible through the centuries. The only ones who changed any Scriptures in the Bible are the protestants, who, after fifteen centuries of a Bible preserved by the Catholic Church came along and threw books out of the Bible, and changed the meanings of books they would not throw out.

The New Testament was written by the apostles and disciples. The Catholic Church later (the bible didn't come around for a while after Christ died) viewed what really were documents and letters and determined which ones were written in inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Old Testament was the Jews "bible".
The main difference between the Mormon Bible and the Catholic Bible is in their content. The Mormon Bible, also known as the Book of Mormon, is an additional sacred text considered by Mormons to be a companion to the Bible. The Catholic Bible includes the Old and New Testaments, whereas the Mormon Bible contains a narrative of ancient American prophets and their teachings. Additionally, the Catholic Bible includes books not found in the Mormon Bible, such as Tobit, Judith, and Maccabees.
It might be invalid because God's blessing through priest is important. The priest (or deacon) who assists at the celebration of a marriage receives the consent of the spouses in the name of the Church and gives the blessing of the Church. The presence of the Church's minister (and also of the witnesses) visibly expresses the fact that marriage is an ecclesial reality. It is this writers opinion that ones marraige does not have to be blessed by a Catholic Priest. Christ gave the sacramament as an example for all men to follow. The blessing a ones marriage has nothing to do with partaking of the sacrament.
One of the major ones is the Bible. but there is also the church and the followers usually Catholic or Christian
This is a good question for your spiritual advisor or priest. They are the ones who can speak with authority on the beliefs of your church.
the difference between the two is that the protocanonical books are the ones which includes some of the books in the protestant religion, while deuterocanonicals are purely catholic books in the bible.
The KJV of the Ten Commandments or Statements as compared to the Catholic version of the same differ in this way: Commands 1 and 2 are merged (becoming 1) in the Catholic version while Command 10 is split into two separate ones (9 and 10).
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, there are two sides to the priesthood: offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and forgiving sins. Among the duties of a Catholic priest are the celebration of the Eucharist as a presider in persona Christi or as a concelebrant if required. Priests are also responsible for daily recitation of the principal and minor offices of the Liturgy of the Hours. Catholic priests are the only ministers of the Sacrament of Penance and Anointing of the Sick. They are the only ones who can celebrate the Eucharist in the Catholic Church (not to be confused with distribution by deacons or by extraordinary ministers). They and deacons are ordinary ministers of Baptism and witnesses to Holy Matrimony.
