On September 27, 1986, Burton died when the band's tour bus skid-markand crashed in sweden.
Drummer Lars Ulrich started the band back in 1981. He than found now lead singer and rhytym guitar James Hetfield and they found bassist Ron Mcgoveny who quit and guitarist Dave Mustaine who got kicked out. The line-up was changed to Kirk Hammett, Cliff Burton (who died in a bus accident) and Lars and James. After Cliffs death Jason Newstead joined the band. He quit in 2003 and was replaced by permanent bassist Rob Trujillo

YES.
Kill 'Em All came out originally with Dave Mustaine, Ron McGovney, Lars Ulric, and James Hetfield, it was titled "No Life 'Til Leather" but it was only a demo. after they kicked Dave out, during prerecording, they got Kirk Hammet from Exodus in Metallica. They recorded Kill 'Em All in mid 1983 and released it 5 weeks later. At first the band wanted the new album to be called "Metal Up Your A**" but the record company would not produce it with that title. Then Cliff Burton said "kill em all!" Hence the title "Kill 'Em All"

They won't they're retired
Dave Bautista, better known as 'Batista' has not come back since losing at WrestleMania. It is expected that he will be back once his movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" is no longer in theaters.
At the moment, no they are not set to come, however they'd be stupid not to come as there is a group with almost 10,000 people in it on Facebook entitled METALLICA IN MONCTON 2010.
Because it wouldn't make any sense I mean if its just one band you would get bored pretty fast. And its because its Metallica's choice of what band they want to put on Guitar Hero Metallica.
