Mwa hahaa Hope it helps A vampire is a dead body that has the ability to steal life-force from living creatures and thereby perpetuate their own existence. Vampires have free-will and a functioning intellect, and some functioning anatomy as well. It is known that some vampires have fathered children with living women. A zombie is a dead body that has been re-animated by some external influence (voodoo magician is the most common source.) They do not have a will of their own but obey their animator. They have no intellect beyond a desire to feed. Zombies do not have any functioning anatomy beyond motion and require the constant attention of their animator to perpetuate their activities. Activity in a zombie requires energy (of course) which come from the decomposition of their bodies - this is why zombie decompose more quickly than ordinary flesh.

They were more similar to what is popularly identified today as zombies or ghouls. The modern interpretation of vampires stems from the author Bram Stoker.
