It's Because Your Rucksack is full and you need to empty it or just (If you have one) Eat any food you have 1 of and then go back and it should work!

The symbol you're referring to is telling you that your rucksack is full. In order to fix this, either go back to your house and take something out of your rucksack or just take the fodder/feed out one at a time, and feed your animals one after another, going back to the feed bin in between each animal.
