Stories often have periods of time pass where nothing significant or exciting happens. Starting a new chapter is an excellent way for time to pass without writing about the boring, irrelevant events.
Also, readers very rarely read a book in one sitting; so Chapters are an excellent way to know when to stop reading for the night. They are also a nice way to remember where you are in a book.
Chapter 23 is much easier to remember than page 428.
Some authors use chapters to foreshadow (give hints about what's coming) by giving their chapters titles- or by having quotes at the top of the page.
In short, Chapters are more convenient in a book and allow the authors more artistic freedom and the ability to pass over boring passages without writing the generic "12 Hours Later..."
I hope this was helpful.

That depends upon lots of factors: * how many books has the author written? * how well know is the author? * how many of the authors books have been published? * of those published, how many books have been sold? * what are the royalty fee structures of the publisher? There is no textbook answer for this question. Authors do not earn "wages" per se ... it's not like a 8 to 5 job being an author.
It all depends on who HER is. There are lots of girl authors. I am a girl, and I get my ideas from what I feel deep down inside. You just have to look past what you see, you have to look deeper down into yourself.
Here is a link to an article with lots of quotes by the authors!
There are actually lots of people who wrote the Nancy Drew books under the name Carolyn Keene. Two of them are Priscilla Doll and Walter Karig. If you go to wikipedia.org and type in Carolyn Keene, it will come up with a whole list of some of them.
Daisy Meadows is a pseudonym used by multiple authors who have collectively written over 200 books in the Rainbow Magic series, which features fairy tale themes. It is challenging to provide an exact number of fairy tale books written solely by Daisy Meadows.
He accomplished Lots and Lots of Books
Do whatever you're told to do (lots of confusing puzzles in the chapters), and hit the block with the gold star in it to get to the next chapter when you see it.
