Most questions get satisfactory answers straight-away, so there's no need to use the discussion area. It's beneficial to use the discussion area if you need to explain more detail about the question being asked.

There is a forum for WikiAnswer supervisors, but aside from that there is no WikiAnswers forum. There are many websites with forums that are of the question/answer nature, however, and on each individual question on WikiAnswers there is a forum-like discussion page.
Why are you named WikiAnswers?
In the discussion area of one of the questions having to do with WikiAnswers is a discussion that shows part of the conversation that was going on while WikiAnswers was FAQ Farm. While many liked the name FAQ Farm, it was felt that it gave the false impression that it had to do somehow with farms and thus the decision to bring the attention of the site being a Q&A site. The message that it was a site where questions were asked and the answers given were in a Wiki format, basically ended up giving birth to WikiAnswers.

It injured its leg many years ago kicking ignorance out.

It is because, wikianswers does not answer your questions. Members of wikianswers who volunteer to use the site answer the questions on the topics they are familiar with. Hence there are many questions that are still unanswered.

Why are you not a librarian?
Many of the contributors on WikiAnswers are librarians! And most of us are professionals working in areas that we answer questions in, or are very active in organizations that are related to the topics that we like to answer.
What might be a reason why no one's posting on a WikiAnswers community forum discussion topic about Pokemon?
Pokeman is relatively popular so I would assume that either not many WikiAnswers members know about the topic or if it is not a busy topic it is probably getting buried under other topics posted in the same sub-forum.
