Could be that your belt is slipping at that relatively high RPM or your diode (bridge rectifier) block is on the verge of failing.
More the likely the alternator has quite working are the belt / belts have broken on the front of the engine.

Can anyone help The dealer is telling me that because the battery cable on my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe had come loose that it caused my ignition switch to go bad.
