I tried to just paste my earlier answer to the question, "My girl dog had puppies and every time you put the puppies next to the dad he moves away What is the matter?" but, IE kept crashing. I'm not in the mood to type it all over again; but, that answers applies equally to your question.
Also, to both of you (and anyone else reading this), PLEASE get your dogs spayed and neutered!!! There are already thousands being slaughtered in "shelters" every day because of the shortage of homes for all of them. The ones who get dumped out in the country usually suffer an even worse fate - starvation, getting torn apart by coyotes or feral dog packs, getting shot or hit by cars... Even if they're one of the very lucky few who get rescued, by that point they generally have heartworms and/or a lot of other problems or injuries. Those of us who rescue can only do so much; and, there are way too few people who are willing to foster these unfortunate souls. A spayed or neutered pet is typically heathier, happier, and a better family member. If parents want to teach their kids about life, take them to the local pound; or, foster for a rescue group, instead! They'll gain FAR more valuable life lessons - including lessons about responsibility and how others suffer when those responsibilities aren't upheld.

You could have puppies with birth defects when the parents mate with the puppies. If you plan on keeping them all together, you should neuter the puppies. The mum and dad will be interested in each other the next time the mum goes into heat.
