yes it is
Jamaica is the birthplace of the Rastafarian movement, one of the core tenets of which is marijuana use. However, while it is still technically illegal, cultivation, use, and sale of the drug is overlooked by law enforcement, so it enjoys a de facto legal status very similar to that of The Netherlands, and cannabis is sold openly with little to no legal repercussion.
The previous answer given above is not very accurate. In Jamaica cannabis use is in fact quite common. However it IS very much ILLEGAL there!! If caught with it you will be arrested and faced with charges relative to the possession of illegal drugs. Law enforcement there carry out raids and several operations to destroy 'weed farms' and points of sale. Jamaica is no different from the US when it comes to drug preventative measures, its actually a civilized society. (And contrary to what many think, Rastafarians are not hardly the majority in Jamaica, the normal citizens of Jamaica are law abiding, working class people.)Drugs are ILLEGAL there, but like everywhere else in the world, people disobey the law and so there are the outlaws who do abuse drugs, most commonly cannabis.

Cannibis is a plant not a religion. Some Rastafarians use the plant as a drug in Jamaica.

Actwualy yes illegal drug use is a bigger problem. Due to this thousands of americans are being arrested for illegal drug use. Its worse then drunk driving.
Yes, you need a passport card to go to Jamaica. You can get these at any USPS and have your picture taken at drug stores.
If you have to ask that..........you do have common sense and an idea of acceptable social behavior, right?
This question is so vague and deprived of any common internet researching sense, it doesn't deserve an answer.
The easy way to cut down on illegal drug use is to have fewer illegal drugs. Marijuana was not illegal as a recreational drug until some time in the 1930's, and was made illegal for largely racist reasons. Bad laws get broken; best not to pass bad laws.
