At first you need to cool the food at required temperature and must keep it at the same cool condition inside the fridge to save energy by not opening its door.

Your direction of thinking is exactly correct . cool food first. Keep it for longer time. then you reduce the compressor running time and frequency. then you save energy...good.

Refrigerator Must Open if Used. Despite the model or a technology incorporated of a particular refrigerator, user has to open its doors to store or take out the goods. When the door remains open, warm and moist ambient air will flow in and will mix with the cold air inside the refrigerator. Moisture transfer increases with the number of door openings. If the blower fan is turned on, the flow rate of cold air inside the refrigerator cabin will be accelerated, resulting an out flow to the atmosphere through its square area of the opening thus convective and radiative heat transfer increases. Masjuki et al. (2001) investigated that about 10 Wh increases in energy consumption for each door opening of 150 l refrigerator-freezer. Further, a temperature rise of 10 to 20 degrees of Celsius could beobserved during open door condition.

Refrigerator is one the key electrical appliances which is plugged to the electrical supply round the clock in a common family. It has approximately 15 to 18 hrs of continuous compressor operation time. Hence, a refrigerator consumes approximately 48 to 58 kWh per month as per the previous surveys. Therefore, refrigerator grabs 30 to 50 per cent units of the total monthly electricity consumption.

So what to do...?

I have invented very simple and cost effective system to overcome this. We can save 14% energy from any model. The concept of "Door Screening System"(Patented for 20 years) can save 7 to 12 kWh per month from your refrigerator or bottle cooler.

I'm looking for investor who could join me to keep the world more greener for future generations.
