I'm not sure this is what you mean, but most US benefit packages and taxes add about 35-45% to the employee's actual salary. So, if a company is paying you $40,000, it actually costs them $54,000 to $58,000 to keep you on payroll. The is not including administrative fees associated with hiring and payroll.

Well...there are different types of 'salary'...whether it be net or gross...or a base salary that may be supplemented by commission...or a salary based completely on commission...otherwise known as a 'commission based salary'...or total financial benefit offered as part of a contract or benefit package which may include bonuses, insurance coverages, etc. that may be figured into your income for tax purposes and not necessarily what you are paid directly but in general other terms for 'salary' may be:wage, earnings, compensation, income, stipend, pay, remuneration, emolument, revenue, proceeds, gain, livelihood, means, honorarium, etc.

Dear Sir, It is with great anticipation that I am requesting an advance on my salary of the amount of $00000 (write amount in words). The advance in salary will help with an unexpected financial need. Of course, I will expect to repay with terms agreed upon, and prefer that regular payments be taken out of my salary. Your kind consideration will be highly appreciated. Sincerely,
