In addition, it could have also been prevented if the British had more and better aircrafts. The British only had 158 aircrafts. which were already obsolete, when the Japanese started their invasion. By contrast, the Japanese severely outnumbered them and had more advanced fighter planes. This caused the British to easily lose control of the skies, helping the Japanese.
