That's the $64,000 question! Nobody knows when a person will "achieve" nirvana. Even those with full enlightenment do not know when another's insight will see nirvana. The realization of nirvana is better thought of as the result of unlearning, or abandoning your conditioning, to the point of realizing your own intrinsic nature.
The answer to this is yes! We all have a Buddha nature within us. You can reach enlightenment through prayer study and practice with others. Making good causes and changing your karma will help you on your journey through this life.
I disagre with you. We don't all have a little Buddha in us, that's crazy talk. 1st of all, Buddha wasn't even that much of a religious person. It's a mystery why he bacame a god. 2nd, the bible says not to make idols, so I dough God likes that. Lastly, there is no such thing as Karma. That's a made up thing that humans created, like the trinity. It never once mentioned that in the bible, so how could you possibly trust it.
In nichiren Buddhism nirvana is the state of rapture. Buddahood would be enlightenment and everyone can achieve these states of life.
