The ocean floor is about 5,000 feet below the surface. The oil reservoir was drilled another 13,000 feet from that point. An extensive subsea cloud of oil from the well has been confirmed by NOAA. The formation of clouds is a new phenomena requiring research. The use of dispersants subsea may be factor as well as the near freezing temperatures at the sea floor. The cloud is extensive but the concentration of oil droplets in these clouds is low.
"Dispersed oil tends not to float but instead falls below the surface and drifts at mid-depths" - quote from Yahoo! news.
yes, absolutely!!
Yes, it is.
When oil is leaked out of an oil container like the BP when an underwater oil line broke
about 1 mile deep.
Deep horizon
Giant Squids typically live in deep ocean. There has never been a major oil spill in the deep deep ocean. If there were one, if the oil spill was big enough, it would be expected that even the giant squid would die.

I believe that it was BPs fault. They admited on live news that the oil spilt was their oil and that they are doing their best to clean up as much oil as possible. But it wasn't fully BPs fault, i think that i heard the news say that they "hit some coral" or something im not very sure but if that is the case then it wasn't entirely their fault.
deep water harizon
There was a 2006 BP oil spill that occurred when George W. Bush was president; but you are probably asking about the 2010 Deep Water Horizon oil spill, and yes, Barack Obama was president when that happened.
Spill date: April 20 - July 15, 2010 Well officially sealed: September 19, 2010
