According to the most accepted traditions Adam died around the year 3070 BC, 930 years after he was created by God in the year 4000 BC. Also, according to 'The Life of Adam and Eve', an Old Testament Apocrypha text, Eve died less than 100 days after her husband. The Bible is silent on when Eve passed away.

According to Genesis 5:5, Adam died at the age of 930(!) The death of Eve wasn't recorded, but, alas, women seem to have been considered more as property in biblical times so her death may not have seemed so important. It may be that Adam and Eve were mythological and so they never actually lived.

Within the bible story they are told that they will experience suffering and death as a result of their disobedience to God.

We are not told how they die, unlike their son Abel who was murdered by his brother Cain.

We aren't told of their daughters either, who would have had to have married their brothers to have children, or who would have carried out the marriage ceremony or what that would have been like. ---- yes, They died and Adam pbuh lived 1000 years. Abdullah Ibn Al Iman Ahmad Ibn Hanbal narrated that Ubai Ibn Kab said: "When Adam's death was near, he said to his children: "O my children, indeed I feel an appetite for the fruits of Paradise." So they went away searching for what Adam had requested. They met with the angels, who had with them his shroud and what he was to be embalmed with. They said to them: "O Children of Adam, what are you searching for? What do you want? Where are you going?" They said: "Our father is sick and has an appetite for the fruits of Paradise." the angels said to them: "Go back, for your father is going to meet his end soon." So they returned (with the angels) and when Eve saw them she recognized them. She tried to hide herself behind Adam. He said to her. "Leave me alone. I came before you; do not go between me and the angels of my Lord.' So they took his soul, embalmed and wrapped him, dug the grave and laid him in it. They prayed on him and put him in his grave, saying: 'O Children of Adam, this is your tradition at the time of death."" Before his death Adam reassured his children that Allah would not leave man alone on the earth, but would sent His prophets to guide them. the prophets would have different names, traits and miracles, but they would be united in one thing; the call to worship Allah alone. This was Adam's bequest to his children. Adam finished speaking and closed his eyes. Then the angels entered his room and surrounded him. When he recognized the Angel of Death among them, his heart smiled peacefully.

Another Answer from our community:

If you take the Bible to be truth, 6000 years ago, give or take.

However, there is no solid evidence to support their existence and they are likely to be a myth, written in the Bible to show God's true power as creator of things.

Scientific evidence shows that there was life on earth around 3.5 billion years ago, so it is hard to say if they were actually ever alive or if they were a story with a hidden meaning to teach Christians and Jews alike.

Answer

Modern man has been on the planet for something approaching 200,000 years. The fossil record clearly supports this. A good guess for when Adam and Eve were alive, if indeed they were the first humans, would be about 190,000 years ago.

The Bible didn't give an exact date to the deaths of Adam and Eve. In fact, Eve's age wasn't given. She wasn't mentioned after giving birth to the couple's third son, Seth, in Genesis 4:25. Adam was described as living a total of 930 years, in Genesis 5:5. He therefore would have died during the lifetime of his great great great great great great grandson, Lamech. He would have died before the birth of Lamech's son, Noah of the flood. According to James Us[s]her [January 4, 1581-March 21, 1656], that death would have taken place in 3074 B.C.E. But scientific advances and discoveries have tended to put that date much further back, and much earlier in the history of the ancient world.

According to Genesis, Adam lived for 930 years - until about 3074 BCE. This estimate can be arrived at by working backwards from the biblical reign of King Solomon, through the years of the sojourn in Egypt and then back through the biblical Patriarchs and their ancestors. However, this estimate is reliant on the reliability of the biblical account. It can be shown that the ages of all the great men from Adam down to the Patriarchs were based on numerology, in elegant series using the magic number 17, not history. For example the lifespans of the first five generations:

Name ........ Lifespan .. Pattern

Adam ....... 930 ..........7x9 + 51x17 [3x17x17]

Seth .......... 912 ..........5x9 + 51x17

Enos ......... 905 ..........8x9 + 49x17

Cainan ..... 910 ..........6x10 + 50x17

Mahalalel. 895 ..........5x9 + 50x17

With this information, we can realise that no one ever lived to such great ages and then realise that the tradition is no more than a legend. If we assign ages of less than 50 to each of these biblical heroes, given that science says that few early humans ever lived beyond this age, then the world becomes so improbably young, and Adam and Eve alive so recently, that even the most conservative must reject the notion.
